
Andra Calligaro is an illustrator based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. A former children’s bookseller with a master’s degree in ceramic arts, she became a full-time illustrator in 2024, pursuing her longtime dream.
In 2025, she won 3rd Prize at the Notte di Fiaba Illustration Contest. The book Vrăjitorița Jazzmina, written by Florin Bican and illustrated by her, was a finalist at the 2nd edition of the Cărturino Awards in Romania. This year her illustration was selected among the winners of Italian Excellence. Pinocchio’s New Clothes will be exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Her first silent book, Un piccolo mistero giallo, is a finalist in the Silent Book Contest 2026 and will be showcased at BCBF.
She enjoys blending traditional and digital techniques and believes it is important to have fun while illustrating stories for children.
